Stick with me long enough and you'll figure me out. I'm running twtd on an Alpine Linux VPS, and mostly post through Twtxt.app. I'll probably leave if it gets too popular.

@prologic yeah had a squiz. Looks really good! I've been with Zola for a while, but thinking of starting afresh with something new

The voices that travel across the alleyway from the BnB apartment at drink-o'clock are hilarious. One week a bunch of man-childs "rargh rarghing" to the footy finals, another week a bunch of women-childs (wives of man-childs maybe?) speaking a language I simply don't understand. God we're pests when we gather in our flock.

Ah yep what meillo has done was how I saw it. But I see the limitations now. I think for me a small SSG is still the best next step up, just thought there might've been something I was missing in the middle ground. Twtxt is pretty sweet that you can technically use it for longer form writing anyway. Guess it's all about what we're trying to achieve.

If twtxt is for micro-blogging, what would be the macro-blogging solution that best fits the twtxt philosophy? Something not quite a static site generator or gopher hole? A folder of txts?

Back in the city for a few days, staying again with family. Glebe markets. Think I'm over markets. Junk I don't need. Used to like a proper farmers market where I could get a good load of veg, bread and meat. I got a gozleme. Overpriced but somewhat filling. They're always so hot, straight off the cast iron metal cooking plates, but I don't have the patience to let it cool when hunger is taking over. Went across the road into Sapho's second hand bookshop, a place I can spend hours on any given day, and bought two books I also don't need - one a book on books, The Gutenberg Elegies by Sven Birkerts, and the other, an expected slide into depravity, Snuff by Chuck Palahniuk. Happy to kick my feet up now in the cool of these four walls as the after rains sun starts to make it a little uncomfortable outside. There's a restlessness in me though, maybe a hint of homesickness, or a guilt of not travelling a bit more abroad with my time I've made for myself. Nevermind, a small trip west next week is on the cards, and a loose date for my return to NZ is approaching.

@javivf This looks fantastic. I wonder sometimes if my new path of todo.txt, calendar.txt, and custom project management has steered me off GTD and more towards tinkering. I used to use Nirvana for both work and private and found it really took my GTD skills to another level.. really started to feel "mind like water". Mindwtr looks next level though. Very very tempted. 72d on, is it still working well for you?

Back onto the omelettes. So versatile! Throw in anything. Chives, spinach, mint, mushroom, ham, chorizo, silverbeet, tomato, cheese. Whatever's at hand. Fluff it up with milk, or don't. Salt and pepper. Nom nom.

@JasonSanta Ah cool, twtxt.app shows a clickable link to the og thread: "Forked from an early conversation", and when there, you can't see the posts on this fork unless you click through to it from the post that was forked. Now I've seen it I think it works really well! I feel for you guys working on UIs. It'd be cool to be able to see it look like an actual fork. Mobile though? Hurts my head thinking about it.

@jecxjo It's probably a lost cause given we all input our twts different ways. If I wasn't using a client like twtxt.app I probably wouldn't even bother with twt hashing but rather just scream into the void. I haven't used the "fork" option here yet either so no idea what that does.

@itsericwoodward When I was on the fediverse I always liked that option in clients apps, even on the main feeds it was nice to hide everyone's replies. Here though there's not a huge population so it's not so bad.

@prologic twtxt.app feature request - ability to filter out threaded posts/replies on user profiles? It's nice to read original posts only on a user's profile, and reply posts can be a bit cluttery without the context of clicking through. Just a thought.

@lyse I'd probably still go with Bitwarden in a company given its a bit more user friendly for your every day user. Not sure how good KeePass is with shared entries either, but I don't need that.

@jecxjo Nice. If I get a gem capsule back up and running I'll try it out. My sysadmin incompetence is shining through though - home server crashed while I'm OS, and I can't get anything other than HTTP proxies working on my VPS.

Moved from Bitwarden to KeePassXC for better keyboard shortcuts and cloudless device syncing. So far so good.

Morning observations (back in the city for a night, noticable differences): Birdsong awakenings replaced by alleyway echoes of a tormented man crashing into steel roller doors, wailing through toothless gums bang bang boom boom, fck off fck off. Helicopter hovering above almost directly, scouting something. Miners and magpies still squarking occasionally between mankind.

@jecxjo I've noticed fiction hasn't been as easy for me to get through, but I'll put that down to trying new authors that just weren't right for me. I'm going to a bookfair on Friday and going to return to some old favs like Nigel Tranter and Robert Ludlum. Your list has given me some inspo. Might grab a Lee Child. Any favs of his I should look out for?

I wonder if belching randomly into a microblogging medium has any healthy benefits. Or maybe unhealthy? Then again, if it's just writing like this, it already existed in my head, so no harm right?
